# SPI BFM avoid tri-state default values

Hi, is there an option to avoid the SPI BFM outputting tri-state values as default (before the first transaction)? E.g ss\_n = ‘H’ and sclk = ‘L’ by default, but I want ss\_n = ‘1’ by default, at least. After the first transaction the output is okay.

Hi,  
There is no option for this at the moment, but it could be a useful feature.  
All of our developers are occupied at the moment, but if you have a good and tested solution it would be great if you could make a pull-request!

Great. I currently just have a workaround.  
I will see if I have time to write something more permanent in the near future.
